10 am Equipment Displays (ends at 2 pm)
Albia Fire Department Equipment Display
Albia Police Department
Chariton Fire Department ("Old Betsy," more 115 years old, the horse-drawn Silsby
Steam fire
engine owned by the Chariton Volunteer Fire
Department will be on
display. According to a
spokesperson with the department, this engine
is one of
four Silsbys of its type in the United States that remains in

11 am Dunk Tank - Sponsored by the Albia Optimist Club
11 - 1 pm Fairfield Dixieland Band (bandstand)
1 pm Bucket Brigade Contest - (North Clinton Street)
1 pm Monroe County Historical Museum (closes at 4 pm)
2 pm Program - Bandstand
4 pm Cookout Contest Judging

This Saturday, August 15th event celebrates the contributions that public safety organizations have made to our community.
Where there is smoke, there are good eats - when you are talking cookout contest!
